Ranch Market @ Pondok Indah Plaza

Posted by Picasa

Right beside the famed Pondok Indah Mall is this almost forgotten Pondok Indah Plaza. It used to have a Toys R' Us but it closed down some years ago. Yet the Ranch Market is qorth a visit.

Apologies for this bad photo, Pondok Indah Mall is the one that is beside the Suzuki dealership.

Pondok Indah Mall has 2 terminals, connected by two bridges. Each bridges are 2 storey high and small shops lined the bridges.

With SOGO and Metro, every ten steps you take will be greeted with Caucasians. This is the mall where tourists go and is at Class A-. What i liked about this mall is it's own boutiques for Quiksilver/Roxy, Nike and Billabong etc etc. Nice.

Jakarta's Air Mancur Metropolitan

This road in Jakarta is the cleanest, safest, greatest, metropolitan-est and most elite. Took this big fountain from my car at around 8 pm.

Night view of Plaza Indonesia at Jakarta Selatan

I took this picture on my way to Plaza Indonesia or 'PI' as the locals calls it. This mall is not just any mall. It is the most prestigious mall in the whole of Indonesia. Everyone knows that only the elites comes here. It would be ranked an A+. Everyone comes with their own vehicles, families or the adults usually use their chauffer (thus the 'chauffer-station', or you can see them resting in the cars, windows out, seat down and chatting with another vehicle) as youngsters usually drive themselves.

Great parking space, valet parking services and high security is the reason why many lux cars are here. Plaza Indonesia is actually connected to the Grand Hyatt. Kinda reminds me of Melbourne.
Plaza Indonesia features boutiques like Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and many many more. It is not at all
crowded. Chances of bumping into celebrities are very high.

Just last year, PI build another wing beside it catered for the younger and more hip generation. It is called The EX and it has the modern structure with white and orange as the theme. Famous for it's world class cinema, with great seats so big it can fit 2. To me, i find this mall mediocre as it lacks depth and shops. It stands at Class A and should actually deserve a B if it wasn't for it's elite location and breath-of-fresh-air-ness. On weekends, live bands would be playing at the atria.

Wondering where the mini skirts and boho-chic had gone to in Jakarta? Here...

Taman Angrek, a large Shopping Mall and Apartments.

This is my favourite mall as it is the nearest and one of the biggest mall in Indonesia. It houses 8 apartments that reaches to the sky, a roof garden that is like a forest and 4 swimming pools. Many celebrities had at least one apartment here. Located at Jakarta Barat, Mall Taman Anggrek (or 'TA' as the locals warmly calls it) houses a Metro, a Hero supermarket, a Galleria and many international food companies from McDonald's to Starbucks and clothing labels like Guess?, Esprit, Mark's & Spencer's and The Body Shop.

The top 2 floors are dedicated to food and a cinema 21. I would say that this is a Class B+ mall, being that not everyone comes in with their own vehicle, mostly an after school hang-out, a family mall on the weekends and having Aigner, MNG and Guess being the most expensive labels.

Not much fuss, have to dress at least casual smart and chances of meeting of celebrities are about 30%.

A usual scene at a highway, can get a tad conjested at peak hours. This is largely due to big trucks and buses that clogged up the 2 way traffic.

Sweet Home and Away

Push The Button

Posted by Picasa

It was another day, just passing like the clouds. Soon I will leave this haven and exchange it for a place where I have to:

-do my own laundry
-do my own ironing
-do my own cooking
-thus doing my own grocery shopping
-do my own cleaning of the dishes
-make my own bed
-vacuum and mop my own floor
-clean my own room
-walk to uni
-take the public transport to anywhere aka traumatizing trams
-see irritating people at Chinatown
-see fu*king Myers and David Jones (hate them)
-basically do everything myself

I think it is one thing being responsible and independent but this can really tick me as all these chores get very 'chores-y' when day by day is lived like that. Try have one month of end of semester exams and on top of that, chores, chores and chores.

Right now, I shall be thankful for everything I have at homeā€¦. And chill.

The Eye 10

Heelllooo heellooo hello da jia hao. It has been a while indeed, not that anyone particularly misses me but that I am so bored that i decided to blog again. Huhuhu...

By the way, I am now at location Jakarta, that explains why i felt so bored these days. Yet I am extremely glad (breathe a sigh) that I am finally home sweet home... after 2 looongg years. Unfortunately, I will leave Indo soon, in about 3 weeks :(.. but will be back in about 9 months time :).

Last night at around 9 pm, i switched on the TV and Tian Ying Ping Tau (Channel 'Tian Ying', a Chinese Network captured via satellite) was showing The Eye 10 (the 3rd instalment to The Eye). I watched it ALONE and it was really scary. REALLY SCARY. Let me share some of the gruesome scene......

Eye 10 showed the 10 ways to see ghost on at one scene, these group of imbeciles including one very hot actress decided to do this:

After playing a game where each player tell a ghost story each, one Thai guy asked them if they had real encounters with ghosts (since they seemed really dogged at story telling). No one in that group had any, so that Thai guy took out this book which parlays the 10 traditional Thai ways to see ghosts. One of the way is-

By placing 3 dishes and a soup dish on the ground, they can attract the 'Hungry Ghosts' to 'eact' the food. However, they have to be kneeling infront of then food whilst knocking an empty bowl each without stopping or else the ghosts will see them (which will be terrible as they may posses them).

Fellow imbeciles decided to try this despite the risks as they were cynical and decided to prove that book wrong. After 5 minutes of knocking (don't fall asleep yet, the scary part is up) whilst yawning, one fella started to see something, which turned into a few things and then turned into a lot of ghosts (long haired, no eyeballs and really white). He shierked and screamed and shouted for his dear lives. His friends didn't see anything and asked him to calmed down.

Poor fella was shivering and stopped knocking the bowl for like 20 seconds. Those ghost suddenly looked at him. Fortunately, his friends (whom sees nth) reminded him to. Them ghosts was squatting right infront of him and 'digging in'. I felt the fear too.

Then, another of his friend started to see things. A smoky human figure was forming 10 metres away and she was trying to zoom in til...... a ghost head suddenly appeared infront of her... and WE screamed. Shocker....

The first fella wasn't just peeing his pants of (now with only 2 of the 5 seeing things), he knocked the bowl so hard it broked!!!!!! Here comes the sick part when he uses his chopstick and knock against his teeth, up and down while closing his eyes, trying not too see the ghosts.

Ok enough for now. This is one of the scariest part in Eye 10. The funny part involved that poor fella being possed and did a breakdance. Then 2 Bboys saw him and decided to challenged him (not knowing tt he is possed). People were gathering and cheering but it stoped when he
'walked the wall'... literally and was hanging from the celling. It was so funny cos it was so ridiculous. I don't suppose people do crip walkin when a ghost posses them.

Hehehe scary movie indeed. I have yet to watch The Eye and The Eye 2 but my bro said tt it is so sick. Ok good for now.
